Healthcare
It started with a simple fever that wouldn’t go away.
Weeks passed. Local doctors had no answers.
Desperate, Saifullah’s parents travelled from Bhola to Dhaka, where they finally heard the word they feared most - cancer.
Little Saifullah was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. His chemotherapy began in 2022.
Saifullah’s father, a security guard by profession, earned only BDT 10,500 a month. By the time of diagnosis, the family had already spent everything they had.
They had no relatives in Dhaka. No place to stay. Going back home meant stopping treatment. Staying in Dhaka meant having nowhere to live.
With support from SAJIDA Foundation, Saifullah and his mother found a safe place near the hospital. His treatment continued without interruption.
Today, Saifullah is physically improving. He misses school, and he isn’t as cheerful as before, but he is fighting for a healthier life.
In Bangladesh, many children suffer from cancer with little awareness and limited access to affordable treatment. Since 2023, SAJIDA Hospital has been supporting children and women from underserved communities so their fight doesn’t stop because of poverty, in line with our belief of health, happiness and dignity for all.
