Strengthening Opportunities for Addressing Livelihood (SONALI) (2009 – 2010)
The Sonali project was started in May 2009 as a continuation of the efforts to eradicate livelihood insecurities of char dwellers when the NPS/VSLA project ended.
DIISP (2013 – 2014)
With financial and technical assistance from PKSF, SAJIDA Foundation initiated the Microinsurance Program named “Developing Inclusive Insurance Sector Project” (DIISP) in two of its Jamalpur PRIME branches. Under this program, SAJIDA Foundation offered credit, life, health (with free paramedic service) and livestock (cattle) microinsurance.

Rehabilitation of Non-Motorized Transport Pullers and Poor Owners Project (RNPPO) (2007-2009)
Launched in 2007 with funding from World Bank and PKSF, this project aimed to rehabilitate pullers of non-motorized vehicles in the Mirpur area after a government ban on non-motorized vehicles.
Nirapad Palli Sanchay / VSLA (2006 – 2009)
SAJIDA Foundation and Taranga with funding from Chars Livelihood Project started the VSLA-NPS program pilot project to eradicate livelihood insecurities of destitute char dwellers and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for them.
Blue Peter Meal and Deal Project (2009 – 2010)
SAJIDA implemented a project launched by Save the Children UK, Bangladesh, in the Satka Union of Dhaka Keraniganj Upazila to increase food security among selected poorest and most marginalized households especially children.
Support to Rana Plaza Victims (2013)
SAJIDA extended rehabilitation and support facilities to the victims of the devastating Rana Plaza disaster. A team of health professionals from SAJIDA Foundation, including doctors, nurses, paramedics and psychosocial counselors, equipped with medical supplies, attended to the victims of the tragedy. The Foundation also provided rehabilitation and livelihood support to the survivors.
Programmed Initiatives for Monga Eradication (PRIME) (2012 – 2016)
In 2006, PKSF launched a comprehensive program in Lalmonirhat titled “Programmed Initiatives for Monga Eradication” (PRIME) with a view to diversifying income opportunities for the vulnerable group of people who live in the Northern Region of Bangladesh and experience acute seasonal food insecurity, known as “Monga”. In 2012, SAJIDA started implementing PRIME in Jamalpur.
DIPECHO VIII (2015 – 2016)
With the support of the European Commission, NAARI Consortium and Concern Worldwide, Bangladesh, SAJIDA implemented the DIPECHO VIII project titled “Enhancing inclusive disaster resilience in Bangladesh” in Wards 5 and 6 under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). The project aimed to reduce disaster risk and mitigate losses and damages from potential disasters.
Improving & Promoting Access to Safe Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Pavement Dwellers and Working Children (IMPACT) (2012 – 2018)
SAJIDA Foundation joined forces with WaterAid Bangladesh in 2012 in the implementation of a WASH program, the activities of which commenced on 1st October 2012 and completed planned activities in March 2018. The project, worked for the pavement dwellers, working and school children had been aptly titled “Improving & Promoting Access to Safe Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Pavement Dwellers.
Forcibly Displaced Myanmar National Project (2018 – 2019)
In partnership with Friendship Foundation and a grant from Penny Appeal UK, SAJIDA Foundation implemented the “Comprehensive Health Response for Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMN)” project to provide reliable primary healthcare services to the FDMN community in two phases.
Fostering Equity
Rebalancing and redistributing opportunities to ensure marginalized and underserved groups have improved access to essential public services.
Ctg. Hill Tract Development Facilities (2010 – 2011)
With the goal to improve the health and nutrition status of the people in six upazilas of Rangamati and four upazilas of Khagrachari district, SAJIDA implemented mobile health teams through local NGO partners.
Tuberculosis Control (2009 – 2015)
To reduce morbidity, mortality and transmission of TB, SAJIDA joined the Global Fund supported TB program and began implementing the project in Narayanganj district.

Community Climate Change Programme (2014 – 2016)
SAJIDA Foundation, in partnership with Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and the World Bank, implemented the Community Climate Change Project (CCCP) in Chinadulli and Noarpara unions, located in the Islampur sub-district of Jamalpur. Islampur is affected by frequent floods and river erosion caused by fluxes in the rivers Jamuna and Brahmaputra.
Nirapotta Safety Net (2006 – 2018)
SAJIDA’s Nirapotta program provided insurance services for the poor who were vulnerable to frequent personal crises that included illness, death of family members, education for children, natural disasters and others.
Malaria Elimination (2008 – 2020)
In April 2008, SAJIDA joined a consortium of 20 NGOs implementing the Bangladesh Malaria Elimination Program (NMCP) in partnership with the Bangladesh Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. SAJIDA’s Malaria Elimination program significantly contributed in achieving the acceleration of the progress of National Malaria Elimination Program’s new goal in line with the Sustainable Development Goal 3.
Working with Women Phase II (2018 – 2021)
Over a three-year period, from 2018 to 2021, SAJIDA partnered with SNV Netherlands to provide a robust mental health support system to 3,500 female workers of two RMG factories in Tangail and Narayanganj. Project activities have included orientations on gender-based violence and positive parenting; para-counselling sessions to address mental health and well-being.

A voucher scheme-based initiative that aims to improve access to and utilization of a free Essential Services.
COVID Response (2020 – 2021)
2020 was a year marred by the outbreak of the pandemic. Obliged by its mission and vision to do what it can for vulnerable communities, SAJIDA Foundation focused its service delivery on three facets: ensuring the availability of hospital services, spreading awareness and providing emergency, as well as long-term support to communities.
SAJIDA COVID Hospital, Narayanganj (2020 – 2021)
Under a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, SAJIDA converted its existing 50-bed hospital into a dedicated COVID-19 hospital.
SAJIDA Hospital Assistance Programme (2021)
SAJIDA Foundation obtained DGHS approval and liaised with the local authorities of Jashore, Chuaganga, Pabna and Meherpur districts to provide skilled human resources, medical equipment and other logistical support to four 250-bed hospitals during the pandemic from June to October 2021.
