Our Approach

In response to the current socio-economic situation of Bangladesh, SAJIDA Foundation is implementing the “UTTARAN” programme to address complex challenges, covering a range of services within an integrated, holistic framework. Currently, this programme is being implemented in 26 sub-districts with approximately 11,832 extreme poor households in six districts - Chandpur, Jhenaidah, Kushtia, Pabna, Shariatpur and Sirajganj. The programme is working with two core interventions: livelihood and health. The livelihood stream will provide microbusiness support, in the form of, grants, service charge-free loans, and enterprise development training. In addition, eligible households will be linked to government social safety nets and brought under a matched-savings scheme. The health stream has been implementing five services; health profiling and tracking, community awareness, static clinic approach, telemedicine services and health financing.
