Revolutionizing Classroom Learning Through Empowered Teachers
In Bangladesh, millions of children struggle with mathematics—70% of Grade 5 students lack grade-level skills, and fewer than half of Grade 6 students can solve Grade 3 problems. SAJIDA Foundation has partnered with the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education to change this reality by launching Khan Academy Bangladesh in 2025.
The initiative equips teachers with localized digital lessons, simple dashboards, and real-time data, enabling personalized instruction that helps every student master the basics.
Year 1 Highlights
- 31 schools, 5,300 students, 93 teachers & headteachers trained in Dhaka Division.
- Localised curriculum: Grade 6 math fully adapted with the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).
- Teacher empowerment: Intensive training and coaching programs rolled out.
- Government alignment: Approved for integration by DSHE and NCTB.
- Student engagement: Guided practice of 30 minutes per week across classrooms.
Looking Ahead
- 2026: Expansion to 50 schools, 10,000 students, introducing Grade 7 math.
- Vision 2030: Nationwide adoption, reaching 1.8 million students across 10,000 schools.
