SUDIN
From November 2023 to February 2024, SAJIDA Foundation's SUDIN team dedicated their efforts to cover four key towns—Dhaka, Gazipur, Chandpur, and Chattogram—as well as five branches spanning Dhaka North, Dhaka South, Gazipur, Chandpur, and Chattogram. Over this period, the team actively engaged with 21 communities, orchestrating an impressive total of 450 social development meetings. Through these interactions, the programme successfully reached and resonated with over 5,000 participants, effectively disseminating awareness on crucial household safety practices and preventive measures against fire outbreaks.
In a collaborative effort with the Fire Brigade, the SUDIN programme held 9 comprehensive fire drills, imparting essential training to a dedicated group of 100 community volunteers. As part of the initiative, 4,600 stickers with fire brigade's hotline number were distributed among the communities. Furthermore, these communities were equipped with vital fire management tools, including 5kg fire extinguishers, safety shoes, fire hooks and beaters, and fire hand gloves.
The social development meetings conducted delved into pivotal topics such as understanding the root causes of fire outbreaks, implementing preventive measures, and installing effective methods within households. The impact of these discussions has been profound, contributing significantly to the enhancement of community safety. We take pride in the positive strides made and express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in ensuring the success of this initiative.
