On October 18, "Sheikh Russel Day" was solemnly observed at the SAJIDA Foundation head office in Dhaka and its field offices across the country.

To honour the 60th birth year of Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, SAJIDA hosted an art competition for the children from the SUDIN programme communities. At the event, young participants eagerly displayed their artistic talents. The winners of the competition received tokens of appreciation.

Among other events, a discussion session on Shahid Sheikh Russel was also organised at SAJIDA head office.
