Bangladesh has made remarkable progress in health, education, financial inclusion, and poverty reduction over the past decades driven by innovative, community-based development approaches. Yet, significant challenges remain, including learning poverty, equitable access to quality healthcare, and the growing need for climate adaptation. While NGOs have played a pivotal role in national development, many initiatives have often been fragmented or implemented in isolation. Bangladesh’s journey offers valuable lessons for implementation science, particularly in applying evidence to practice, adapting solutions to local contexts, and strengthening systems rather than creating parallel structures.

At the Asian Conference on Implementation Science, SAJIDA Foundation was honoured to share perspectives from Bangladesh, highlighting its work in translating evidence into action for greater social impact.

Through its ongoing efforts, SAJIDA continues to explore how implementation science can help narrow the gap between research and real-world application—turning insights into effective programmes that improve lives, especially for the most vulnerable communities in Bangladesh.
