Education
Advancing quality education requires global solidarity, bold partnerships, and the courage to reimagine how children learn.
SAJIDA Foundation was proud to represent Bangladesh at the first KhanX Global Convening hosted by Khan Academy in Manila in January 2026.
A delegation from SAJIDA Foundation, comprising Zahida Fizza Kabir, CEO; Muhymin Chowdhury, Director of Impact Investments and Partnerships; and Azwa Nayeem, Strategy Lead in Education, joined country teams from across the world including the United States, Turkey, Vietnam, Chile, India, Brazil, Pakistan and others, all working towards bold ambitions to expand access to high quality learning.
Each context is unique. Yet the shared commitment to unlocking human potential through education created a powerful sense of collective purpose.
At a time when the learning crisis is increasingly recognised as a national priority, SAJIDA Foundation’s participation, alongside early results from the Bangladesh pilot across 31 secondary schools reaching 5,349 students and 93 teachers, marks a promising step forward.
Implemented in close collaboration with local government officials, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education under the Ministry of Education, the National Curriculum and Textbook Board, and the Institute of Education at the University of Dhaka, the initiative demonstrates the power of strong national partnerships. The initial outcomes reaffirm the potential of mastery-based learning to help shift classrooms away from a culture of rote memorisation towards deeper understanding, greater confidence, and meaningful learning.
The convening served as a powerful reminder that real progress happens when mission aligned organisations come together with openness and intent. Conversations reflected deep dedication to addressing inequity, working hand in hand with governments and communities, and scaling solutions nationally to reach those who need them most.
We extend our sincere thanks to our gracious host country, Philippines, for bringing this global community together with such warmth and care. The week offered rich learning, honest reflection, and renewed momentum as we continue working alongside partners to strengthen learning outcomes and expand opportunity for learners in Bangladesh and beyond.
