As climate change, disasters, and uncertainty continue to rise, communities must adapt and strengthen their resilience, not only to absorb shocks, but to move forward stronger.

With this aim, SAJIDA Foundation kicked off “An Integrated, Inclusive Resilience Model Project” last month, designed to support vulnerable communities in Shialkol and Madhainagar upazilas of Sirajganj, north-western part of Bangladesh. By bringing together mental health care, eye care services, livelihood support, and disability inclusion, the initiative focuses on building sustainable resilience through a truly holistic approach for communities at-risk.

This project will run until 2028, with the support of CBM Global, CBM UK, and CBM Australia, working closely with communities to strengthen preparedness, self-reliance, and long-term well-being.

Dr. Md. Nurul Amin, Civil Surgeon of Sirajganj District, joined the event as Chief Guest, and Shahadat Hossain, Additional Deputy Commissioner, as Special Guest, alongside other representatives from government, NGO and media.

Emphasising the project’s long-term impact, the Chief Guest remarked, “This project is not limited to providing immediate support; rather, it will help build people’s long-term resilience and capacity.”
