SAJIDA Foundation and the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organised an inception workshop "ENGAGE: Eliciting Needs-based Grassroots Action through Cross-Group Engagement”- a 3-year action research project today at Hotel Renaissance Dhaka. The event aimed to explore pathways for disaster risk reduction in the Sundarbans delta through adaptive mechanisms and enhancing social resilience through interdisciplinary knowledge sharing.
We were honoured to have esteemed guests, including Ms. Corinne Henchoz Pignani, Deputy Head of Cooperation, Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, who stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among stakeholders. Our Chief Guest, Mr. Saber Hossain Chowdhury, MP, emphasised the continuous process of transforming data into knowledge for shaping policies.
Funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, ENGAGE is proud to collaborate with renowned institutions such as the University of Lausanne, the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, and the Sundarban Jana Shramajibi Manch (SJSM), India. Together, we will work towards sustainable development and the well-being of marginalised communities.
