At SAJIDA Foundation, we believe real solutions begin with real conversations.

That’s why, on May 6th and 7th, our Business Development Unit, in partnership with Green Delta Insurance Company (GDIC), sat down with farmers from Damudya (Shariatpur) and Jadobpur (Jhenaidah) for two focused group discussions (FGDs). These sessions are part of our joint initiative to develop an agricultural microinsurance product tailored specifically for Amon rice farmers.

Alongside the existing data, we also chose to hear directly from the people who know the challenges best — the farmers themselves. They shared their experiences with climate shocks, crop failures, and the everyday risks they face. They also told us what kind of support would actually make a difference in their lives.

Their insights are now helping shape a pilot microinsurance insurance solution — one built around their realities, needs, and priorities.

This marks the beginning of our efforts to strengthen safety nets for farming communities, ensuring that no farmer is left vulnerable in the face of uncertainty.
