SAJIDA Foundation has launched a pioneering agriculture insurance initiative aimed at supporting marginal farmers and safeguarding their livelihoods against unforeseen risks. This insurance covers key crops such as potatoes, maize and paddy, providing protection against specific perils that can affect crop yields.

As part of this initiative, SAJIDA is piloting two innovative insurance models:

Area Yield Index Insurance:
This model assesses the average yield of crops in a specific area, offering compensation based on regional yield performance.

Weather Index Insurance:
This model is based on weather patterns, such as rainfall or temperature fluctuations, and provides coverage for weather-related risks that may affect crop growth.

These insurance options aim to reduce the financial risks faced by farmers due to climate variability and unexpected disasters, helping them to recover and maintain stability in their agricultural practices. By offering tailored solutions, SAJIDA seeks to empower farmers with the tools they need to thrive, even in the face of uncertainty.
