Mr. Akhter Hamed, COO, Microfinance, SAJIDA Foundation, was a panelist at the "SARDI MSME Cybersecurity Policy Dialogue" under the South Asian Regional Digital Initiative (SARDI) programme, funded by USAID. Organised by Inspira Advisory & Consulting Limited , the programme is being implemented across South Asia including Bangladesh to enhance cybersecurity awareness, build capacity to maintain cybersecurity and conduct policy advocacy to enhance the digital ecosystem safety and security for MSMEs. Mr. Hamed emphasised the importance of government intervention to curb gambling websites, as they have a direct adverse impact on the rural economy.

The event convened key policymakers, policy advisors, development partners, private sector stakeholders, and MSME development platforms to engage in a policy dialogue to bring forth diverse perspectives, understand sector-specific nuances related to security, data, privacy protection, and identify policy gaps in cybersecurity.
