SAJIDA Foundation’s WASH4UP Project, in collaboration with WaterAid Bangladesh, hosted an Awareness Workshop on Preventing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) to empower communities and drive meaningful change.

Bringing together key stakeholders—including Keya Khan, Director General, Department of Women Affairs, and Razia Sultana Luna, Head of People and Organizational Development, WaterAid Bangladesh—the workshop focused on raising awareness, strengthening protection mechanisms, and encouraging positive behavioral change in Dhaka’s low-income communities.

Md. Fazlul Haque, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, SAJIDA Foundation, chaired the program, emphasizing the importance of community-driven action in preventing GBV.

Community voices took center stage, sharing real-life experiences on child marriage, harassment, and domestic violence, while speakers highlighted ongoing efforts and future plans to combat GBV.

By fostering dialogue, collaboration, and collective action, we move closer to a society free from gender-based violence.
